Women’s Tennis Duo Set to Compete in Wahoowa Invitational

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Ole Miss women's tennis team members Rachel Kryzyak and Andrea Nova will compete at the Wahoowa Invitational in Charlottesville, Va., from Oct. 4-6.  
 

Krzyzak, a senior letterwinner, will look to return to form after concluding last season with a team-leading 18-9 record. Krzyzak showed her versatility by picking up wins in four different courts, including four each on courts four and six. 

Nova had 13 overall singles wins in her freshman campaign last season. She became the third Rebel freshman in as many years to win her career first doubles and singles match.

The event will take place at the Virginia Tennis Complex will feature round-robin play in singles and doubles over three days. Doubles will be one set to six, while singles will be two out of three complete sets. 
 
Ole Miss is set to play Friday at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. Saturday, and will conclude play on Sunday at 9 a.m.

- Enters the year ranked 84th in doubles with Anaëlle Leclercq-Ficher

Emma Kette (Jr.) – Rammelsbach, Germany 
-Earned 30th career win at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic 
- Finished 2024 with a 17-11 singles record and 7-4 doubles record

Rachel Krzyzak (Sr.) – Milton, Ontario, Canada 
- Led the team in singles victories with an overall 18-9 record

Anaëlle Leclercq-Ficher (Sr.) - La Perche, France 
- Enters the year ranked 84th in doubles with Ludmila Kareisová 
 - Has tallied double-digit wins in doubles all three years of her career 
 
Andrea Nova (So.) – Prague, Czechia 
- Came to Ole Miss ranked as high as No. 298 in the ITF Junior Rankings  
- Recorded 13 wins in the 2023-24 campaign 
 
Brooklyn Olson (Fr.) – Kansas City, Kansas 
- Blue Chip five-star recruit 
- Ranked as high as 704 in ITF singles ranking 
- Reached Sweet 16 of the Les Petits As Junior Tournament in 2020 
 
Lucie Petruzelova (Sr.) – Zasova, Czech Republic 
- Joined Ole Miss after three seasons with Charlotte  
- Earned first win as a Rebel during the Milwaukee Tennis Classic 
- Compiled a 26-7 singles record and 14-17 doubles record in 2023-24 
- Two-time All-Conference USA honors

FAMILIAR FACES  
Ole Miss has five returning players from last year's team. Kette will look to build off her sophomore year in her second fall as a Rebel. The three-headed monster in seniors Kareisová, Krzyzak and Leclercq-Ficher will significantly impact this season. In 2024, Kyzyzak led the team in singles wins (18). 
 
TRANSFER TO THE SIP  
The Rebels' added Petruzelova from Charlotte through the transfer portal. Petruzelova spent three seasons at Charlotte and earned a combined 66-25 singles record and 58-42 doubles record. She ranks No. 8 in Charlotte's record book in career singles wins. In her Junior campaign, Petruzelova led the team with 26 singles wins. 
 
FRESHMAN PHENOM 
A Blue Chip five star recruit out of Kansas City, Kan., Olson will start her collegiate career as a Rebel this season. She was ranked as high as No. 704 in ITF singles, and the No. 26 recruit in the nation. 
 
FALL SLATE  
The Rebels have a jam-packed fall schedule, which includes nine tournaments from late September through early November. After the trip to Charlottesville, Ole Miss will have an ITA tournament, in Auburn, Ala., from Oct. 10-15. Afterward, the Rebels will compete in Nashville, Tenn for the Vanderbilt Invitational from Oct. 25-27. 
 
 The Rebels will participate in the ITF 35K in Norman, Oklahoma from Oct. 27- Nov. 3. On Nov. 1-2, the team heads to Tuscaloosa, Ala., to participate in the Roberta Alison Invitational. Ole Miss will compete at its second ITF tournament from Nov. 4-10 in Jackson, Tenn., before rounding out the fall at the ITA Masters (Nov. 7-10) in San Diego, Calif., or the ITA Sectionals (Nov. 7-10) with location being assigned at a later date.
