Men’s Golf Goes Back-to-Back for First Time since 2016, Wins at Fallen Oak

BILOXI, Miss. – The No. 2 Ole Miss men’s golf team captured their second straight victory winning the 2024 Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational with a score of 844 (-20). It marks the first back-to-back team victories since the 2016 season. Four Rebels finished inside the top 10 with senior Kye Meeks leading the way with a T2 finish.

The Rebels began the day with a four-stroke lead and picked up right where they left off in round two. The team tallied a final round score of 281 (-7) to win the tournament by nine strokes.

Kye Meeks had a career weekend setting a new career-low 18-hole score of 65 and a career-best individual finish at T2. Meeks shot nine-under over his final 36 holes and birdied three of four down the stretch in his final round to close out the fall with a 54-hole score of 210 (-6).

Tom Fischer recorded his second straight top five finish, placing T4 with a score of 212 (-4). The junior from Birmingham, Alabama carded three consecutive rounds under par and finishes the fall with seven rounds in red figures.

Cohen Trolio and Michael La Sasso both finished in a tie for ninth at 215 (-1). It marked the third top 10 finish for both players this fall. La Sasso clawed back after an opening round 79, finishing the week with two consecutive rounds of (-4) 68.

Collins Trolio who competed as an individual for the Rebels set a new career-best individual finish at T17. Trolio led the way for Ole Miss after round one with a (-1) 71, placing him in a tie for fourth after 18 holes. He finished his weekend with two straight rounds of 73, shooting 217 (+1) for the tournament.

Ole Miss wraps their fall slate with two victories and four finishes inside the top two. Across the four tournaments, Ole Miss had nine top 10 finishes, one individual win, and five golfers finish inside the top five at least once.
