10/8/2024 | Women's Basketball
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Less than a month remains until Ole Miss women's basketball kicks off the 2024-25 campaign, and the buzz surrounding the season continues to grow with head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin along wth players KK Deans and Tameiya Sadler are set to attend SEC Tipoff '25 in Birmingham on Oct. 16.
The three will discuss this season's Rebel squad, which returns eight from last year's NCAA Tournament team. McPhee-McCuin hit the recruiting trail, bringing in four international freshmen and three transfers from the portal, including Sadler.
Deans returns for her second year in Oxford and her sixth collegiately, after earning a medical hardship waiver after suffering a knee injury six games into the 2023-24 season. The guard jumped out to a hot start for Ole Miss, averaging 9.3 points and 3.8 assists per game prior to her injury. A prolific scorer throughout her career, Deans is averaging 11.6 points per game over 114 appearances and shooting the three from a 36.2% clip.
A graduate transfer coming in after spending three seasons at Colorado, Sadler looks to provide a defensive presence for the Rebels coming off of two Sweet 16 appearances with the Buffs. Appearing in all 34 games last season, Sadler averaged 5.5 points per game and ranked third on the team with a total of 45 steals. She also dished out 2.0 assists per contest.
Fans can catch the Rebels in action in their lone exhibition of the season, hosting Christian Brothers from the SJB Pavilion on Monday, Oct. 28 at 6:30 p.m. CT. Admission is free for all to attend.
Ole Miss opens up the regular season, traveling overseas to face off against USC in the 2024 Aflac Oui-Play from Paris, France on Monday, Nov. 4.
