Softball Inks Six on National Signing Day

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss softball has officially signed another dynamic recruiting class, welcoming six to Oxford beginning in the fall of 2025.
Madi George, Madi Heine, Payton Kennedy, Addisyn Linton, Izzy Rettiger and Kaidance Till will join the Rebels following prolific high school careers.
"We are excited to introduce our 2025 recruiting class to the Ole Miss Softball family," said head coach Jamie Trachsel. "This group is a blend of dynamic athletes who will bring a mix of speed, power, strong pitching, and exceptional defense to the table. Their competitive nature and unwavering work ethic will be key in driving our program as we continue to build long-term success. With their passion and commitment, we know they will play an integral role in shaping the future of Ole Miss Softball and taking us to the next level."
Madi George
Height: 5'9"
Position: First Base
Hometown/High School: Leander, Texas/Rouse High School
Club: Texas Blaze United Robertson 18U
A prolific hitter, George brings an explosive bat to the Rebels lineup in 2025, after hitting well over .500 in her high school career, while driving in 99 runs over three seasons. George was named an Extra Innings Softball first team All-American and a third team NFCA All-American in 2023, while also being named to All-State and All-Region teams. Further awards for George include All-District honors every year of her high school tenure, as well as several All-Tournament honors during her club career. George also excelled outside of softball in the shot put, where she was a three-time regional finalist.
Madi Heine
Height: 5'10"
Position: Catcher
Hometown/High School: Cumming, Georgia/West Forsyth High School
Club: Athletics Gold Tamborra 18U
A steady presence behind the plate, Heine comes to Oxford after being named as her region's Defensive Player of the Year in 2024. A polished, all-around player, Heine has earned first team All-Region honors each year of her career, while launching 30 home runs last season. Additionally, Heine took home her high school's ICON of the Month award. Heine is the second generation of Division I athletes in her family, as her father played baseball and hockey at St. Bonaventure.
Payton Kennedy
Height: 5'11"
Position: Pitcher/First Base
Hometown/High School: San Clemente, California/Santa Margarita Catholic High School
Club: Arizona Storm National Mathis
Hailing from the softball hotbed of Southern California, Kennedy is the first of two standout two-way players to join the Rebels in 2025. Ranked as the No. 25 player in the nation in Extra Inning Softball's most recent Extra Elite 100, Kennedy has a career 2.01 ERA, while hitting .400 and being named her high school's offensive player of the year. Kennedy has tallied countless awards, including All-State, All-County, All-CIF and All-Trinity League honors over her career, all while maintaining high academic standards and a spot on the honor roll every semester.
Addisyn Linton
Height: 5'5"
Position: Pitcher/Utility
Hometown/High School: Eagleville, Tennessee/Eagleville High School
Club: Virginia Unity Johnson/Ricks 18U
A talented, two-way player and high school All-American, Linton has built a reputation as a top recruit in the state of Tennessee, where she was nominated for the Gatorade Player of the Year award. Linton helped lead her school to a state title, which was the first for Eagleville in any sport in over 100 years. A three-time player of the year, All-State, All-Area and All-District winner, Linton hit .617 with 21 home runs and 71 RBI, while going 12-2 in the circle with 168 strikeouts as a junior. Her club career has been just as strong, where she's a two-time PGF champion and a PGF All-American.
Izzy Rettiger
Height: 5'10"
Position: Infield
Hometown/High School: Buford, Georgia/Buford High School
Club: GA Impact Caymol Premier
Rettiger is a two-time 7A state champion and 6A state runner up last season, who is a career .455 hitter. Additionally, Rettiger is a three-time All-Region and two-time All-County performer who was selected for Class 6A North All-County Team by the Gwinnett Diamond Club. In addition to softball, Rettiger was an All-Region honorable mention winner in basketball, while also competing in track & field and flag football. Rettiger also brings her high academic standards to Oxford as an All-A student at Buford High School.
Kaidance Till
Height: 5'5"
Position: Infield
Hometown/High School: Germantown Hills, Illinois/Metamora Township High School
Club: Tennessee Mojo Fisher/Ramsey
A sweet-swinging middle infielder, Till heads south to join the Rebels after a dominant high school and club career. Till has hit over .500 for her high school career, driving in 133 runs, while hitting 23 home runs, 61 doubles and six triples. Named a first team All-American by Extra Innings Softball each of the last three years, Till has also taken home PJSTAR Player of the Year the last two seasons and first team 3A All-State, All-Area and All-Conference honors each of the last three seasons. Under her steady presence at shortstop, her school won three conference titles, three regional titles and two sectional titles. Till also hails from a gifted athletic family, as her father reached AAA in the Cincinnati Reds organization, while her mother was a dual sport Division III athlete in volleyball and softball.
