Women’s Basketball Inks Lauren Jacobs on National Signing Day
11/13/2024 | Women's Basketball
OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss women's basketball head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin continues to focus on building for the future, announcing the addition of point guard Lauren Jacobs to the 2025-26 roster during National Signing Day on Wednesday.
"Lauren is a competitor and it makes her perfect for our conference," said McPhee-McCuin. "She can score at all three levels. She is a fierce defender and a leader! She will seamlessly transition into our system, with our program and with the Oxford community."
As the number one recruit coming out of South Carolina in the 2025 class, Jacobs has accumulated numerous accolades across her high school career. She earned a spot in the 2025 Hoop Gurlz ESPN Top 100 rankings and was named a 2023-24 Gatorade Player of the Year nominee.
While guiding her high school to four state and regional championships a piece, Jacobs earned SCISA 4A Player of the Year in 2023 and 2024 and All-State honors three consecutive years. The high school senior was the leading scorer in South Carolina during the 2023-24 season, averaging 31.5 points per game, along with 7.0 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 4.2 steals per game.
When she's not competing with her high school, Jacobs is the leading scorer on her club team, A'ja Wilson Elite 17U. The Columbia, South Carolina, native has earned multiple player of the game recognitions with her club team.
"I chose Ole Miss because first of all, the relationship that Coach Yo and I built," said Jacobs. "I love the style of play and felt the Rebels can help me reach my goal of playing in the WNBA. After my official visit, it solidified my decision on choosing Ole Miss."
New season and single-game tickets for the 2024-25 Ole Miss basketball season are on sale now. To purchase or learn more about buying season or single-game tickets for women's basketball, click here or contact the Ole Miss Athletics ticket office.
