Men’s Tennis Signs Kai Milburn to 2025 Freshmen Class

OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss men's tennis is set to welcome a newcomer to Oxford in January as Kai Milburn has signed his financial aid agreement, head coach Toby Hansson announced on Thursday.
The Queenstown, New Zealand, native boasts a successful junior's career, where he ranked as high as 137 in the ITF Juniors rankings, earned a career record of 54-32 in singles, and has an ITF combined ranking of 141.
Milburn has earned three tournament ITF titles in singles, earning victories in the J60 Christchurch, J60 Wellington and J100 Auckland.
Milburn's triumph at J60 Christchurch was his first singles title on the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors. Towards the end of last season, he did reach the final at J100 Christchurch to suggest he had title-winning potential. Topping the podium at J60 Christchurch clearly had the desired effect given that two further titles, including the biggest of his career at J100 Auckland, followed in quick succession.
Additionally, Milburn has found success on the doubles court, securing four titles across the 2023 and 2024 season. Milburn also represented New Zealand during last year's Davis Cup Juniors qualifying event (Asia/Oceania region) in Shymkent, Kazakhstan.
Milburn attended Wakatipu High School and intends to study finance while at competing with Ole Miss.
"The team environment that Coach Hansson has made is what I was looking for, " said Milburn. "Oxford also feels just like my hometown."
