Women’s Tennis Complete Day One at NCAA’S

WACO, Texas.Three Rebels took the stage in singles for the first round of the NCAA Individual Championship in Waco, Texas, on Tuesday.
 
Transfer Lucie Petruzelova started off the day against No. 36 Grace Piper from USC. Ultimately, Petruzelova's fall campaign ended in the round of 64.
 
Ludmila Kareisová could not advance past the first round and fell short on her respective court. The senior will still compete in doubles alongside Anaëlle Leclercq-Ficher.
 
To round out the day, Leclercq-Ficher ended her fall season in singles after a touch matchup against ranked Pepperdine. The No. 8 Savannah Broadus pulled away in the first set, but Leclercq-Ficher began to battle back in the second. In a close call, the French native fell short, 6-2, 6-4.

Still in the fight, Kareisová and Leclercq-Ficher will compete in doubles round of 32 on Wednesday against Olivia Center and Kate Fakih, (UCLA).
