2023 Mississippi State Bulldogs Recap
Mississippi State finished 5-7 last year, including 1-7 in SEC play, and snapped a 13-year bowl game streak, dating back to the beginning of the Dan Mullen era in 2010. The Bulldogs opened with back-to-back non-conference wins before a string of SEC losses to LSU, South Carolina and Alabama. MSU rebounded with wins over Western Michigan and Arkansas but lost four of its last five, including a 17-7 defeat to Ole Miss in Starkville.
2024 Mississippi State Snapshot
Mississippi State has struggled in its first season under new head coach and former Rebel offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby. The Bulldogs are 2-9 and 0-7 in SEC play, its wins coming in Week 1 over Eastern Kentucky and on Nov. 2 vs. UMass. Despite their record, the Bulldogs have been competitive against some of the nation's top teams, falling by 10 points to Georgia and Texas A&M.

Three Players to Watch: Ole Miss
- Jaxson Dart – How will Jaxson Dart respond after throwing just the third multi-INT game of his Rebel career and his first since 2022?
- Suntarine Perkins – Suntarine Perkins led Ole Miss with 10 tackles and a shared sack against Florida. Will the Mississippi native star once again in the in-state rivalry?
- Walter Nolen – Walter Nolen had a monster performance at Florida, logging eight tackles, including three for a loss and a sack, as well as one pass breakup. Can the Bulldog interior O-line stop him?
- Davon Booth – Ole Miss struggled to stop the run last week at Florida. Meanwhile, Davon Booth broke out with 124 yards and a touchdown on just 12 carries for MSU against Missouri. The Rebels will need to solidify their run defense.
- Kevin Coleman Jr. – Kevin Coleman Jr. is the No. 5 receiver in the SEC with 814 yards and five touchdowns this year. His matchup with Trey Amos—the league leader in passes defended—will be key.
- Brice Pollock – MSU boasts one of the SEC's top corners in Brice Pollock, who is tied for sixth in the league with eight pass breakups on the year.
