Nia Washington Named AVCA All-American Honorable Mention

OXFORD, Miss. โ Following a sensational junior season, Ole Miss volleyball's Nia Washington has been named an AVCA All-American Honorable Mention selection, as the organization announced on Wednesday. ย

Washington becomes the third Rebel in program history to earn All-American honors, joining Nakeyta Clair (2014 โ Honorable Mention) and Regina Thomas (2011 โ Honorable Mention and 2010 โ Third Team). She also becomes the first outside hitter for the Rebels to earn All-American honors.

The award is another in what was a historic, breakout season for Washington, who was named AVCA All-Region and All-SEC First Team. Her breakthrough campaign helped lead the Rebels back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2021 and earn the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament win over No. 21 Florida State. ย

The New Orleans, Louisiana native finished with a career-high 445 kills, 222 digs, 49 total blocks and 29 service aces on the season, while ranking in the top-75 nationally in total kills, kills per set and total points. Washington's 445 kills rank as the third-highest single season total at Ole Miss in the rally scoring era and her 32-kill performance against Mississippi State tied the program's rally scoring record for a single match.ย
