Vivian Miller Selected to SEC Community Service Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southeastern Conference has announced their annual SEC Community Service Team, with Ole Miss volleyball junior Vivian Miller being selected to the list as released on Wednesday.
Miller earns her first selection as the Rebels' rep on the list. One impactful student-athlete is selected annually from each SEC institution to the list.
An active member of the community while continuing to compete on the court in her outside hitter position, Miller has actively volunteered with a number of organizations in the greater Oxford and Lafayette County area.
Among several community service projects, Miller assisted Ole Miss Athletics in collecting and donating water bottles to support families in need throughout the Jackson, Mississippi area during the Jackson water crisis. She worked with in the annual trunk or treat event, which offers an opportunity for children in the surrounding areas to participate in fun activities and receive candy.
Miller also aided in the Adopt-A-Basket program and volunteered for 'Reading with the Rebels' to support reading to elementary school children. She helped collect non-perishable food items along with hygiene materials to share with those who lost their homes and supplies during the tornado in the Rolling Fork, Miss. area. Miller assisted in the collection of over 14,000 non-perishable food items to children in Tunica and Quitman Counties. She helped the social responsibility and engagement department celebrate teachers throughout the surrounding areas in conjunction with College Football Playoff (CFP) Extra Yard for Teachers. She also serves as a representative for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
Alongside her team, Miller supported the More Than a Meal Foundation by providing hot meals to over 125 individuals in need. They also dedicated time to visit the young patients at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital. Miller participated in RebeTHON, a 12-hour dance marathon to raise funds and awareness for the local Children's of Mississippi Hospital. Miller worked with the North Mississippi Regional Center at their yearly Fall festival. She participated in games and signed posters to celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day, inspiring and encouraging girls in the local recreational league.
