Women’s Golf Sits Tied for 10th After Day Two of Puerto Rico Classic

Rio Grande, Puerto Rico – The Ole Miss women's golf team wrapped up their second round of action at the Puerto Rico Classic on Monday, tied for 10th place at 11-over par on the week.
 
The Rebels, who shot 9-over on the day, lead the field in total birdies, now with 29 over the tournament's two rounds of play. A cloudy day at Grand Reserve Golf Club saw 13 of the 15 teams in attendance shoot rounds over par as they battled the conditions in Rio Grande. 
 
Junior Caitlyn Macnab continues to lead the charge for the Rebels as her score of 73 (+1) on the day helped her settle into a tie for 15th place. The ANNIKA Award finalist is tied for second amongst the field in par-5 scoring (-3) and has tallied seven birdies over the past two days which ranks third compared to other participating athletes.
 
Andrea Lignell kicked off the day strong as she strung together two birdies and six pars in her first nine holes of the day. The Gothenburg, Sweden, native currently sits tied for 38th with a two-day score of 147 (+3) and remains in the lead for par-3 scoring (-3).
 
Fellow senior, Justine Fournand, was not far behind as she shot 4-over on the day and holds an overall score of 148 (+4). Along with Macnab, the Erstein, France, native ranks second in par-5 scoring (-3) and ties for shooting the third-highest number of birdies in the field at seven.
 
The tandem of Sophie Linder and Natacha Host Husted capped off the lineup for the Rebels as they shot 1-over and 5-over, respectively. Linder sits tied for 49th with a two-round score of 149 (+5) while Husted logged a 152 (+8) score to find herself tied for 60th.
 
Competing as an individual, Elle Johnson will enter the final day in the top 20 as she holds a two-day score of 145 (+1) and sits tied for 19th. Ellen Hume will enter tomorrow's final round of action tied for 40th after registering a total score of 148 (+4).
 
Ole Miss will cap off the team's trip to Puerto Rico tomorrow morning with the final round of the Puerto Rico Classic at the Grand Reserve Golf Club. The Rebels are set to tee off for their final 18 holes of the week with a shotgun start at 5:30 a.m. CT.
