Women’s Tennis Earns First Road Win Over Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Ole Miss women's tennis earned straight four singles wins to take down Purdue, 4-1. Briana Crowley remained undefeated in dual singles, moving to a 4-0 record.
Ole Miss (3-1) dropped its first doubles point of the season, but did not go down without a fight. Court one and two went to tiebreakers, however did not come away with a victory.
The Rebels immediately tied the score at one apiece due to Purdue (5-2)not being able to field an entire lineup. Reka Zadori is credited with a win by default at No. 6 singles for her 56th career win. After a great outing against Belmont, Emma Kette was moved up the lineup to the fifth singles position and triumphed. The sophomore won her first set 6-4 then once comfortable rolled through opponent, 6-0 in the second.
A staple at the third spot, Crowley improved her unblemished dual singles record by winning in straight sets, 6-1,6-4. Rachel Krzyzak extended her team leading singles wins total and clinched the match for the Rebels. Back at No. 4 singles, Krzyzak defeated her opponent in a tight 7-5, 7-6 (4).
Ludmila Kareisova had a come from behind, 7-5, set one win at No. 1 singles and was ahead 3-0 in the third set before going unfinished.
The Rebels take short trip to Illinois for a match on Sunday, February 11 at 11 a.m. CT.
