Women’s Golf Closes Out Regular Season at Clemson Invitational

SUNESET, S.C. – The Ole Miss women's golf team capped off the regular season at the Clemson Invitational on Sunday, as the Rebels ultimately finished 8th after shooting a three-day score of 874 (+10).
The Rebels wrapped up the week with the most pars in the field at 189 and third in par 5 scoring, shooing 9-under par at The Reserve at Lake Keowee.
Natacha Host Husted finished the week with the best performance of the Rebel lineup, shooting 4-under par to settle into a tie for 5th place, marking the junior's second consecutive top 5 finish. Husted also made 41 pars, which tied for most in the field, and ranked second in par 5 scoring, shooting 6-under.
Junior Caitlyn Macnab ended the tournament tied for 40th, as she accumulated a total score of 221 (+5). Making 33 pars and nine birdies, the Johannesburg, South Africa, native capped off A successful first regular season as a Rebel.
Andrea Lignell bounced back from a tough second round to shoot a score of 72 (E) on the third day to finished tied for 48th with an overall score of 222 (+6). The senior's round three performance marks the 13th round this season in which Lignell shot even or below par.
The youngsters, Sophie Linder and Nicole Gal rounded out the lineup for the Rebels ending the weekend separate by one stroke on the final leaderboard. Linder finished tied for 63rd after logging a 226 (+10) and making the second most pars (40) while Gal's score of 227 (+11) saw her finish tied for 70th.
Competing individually for the Rebels was Justine Fournand who shot a three-round score of 218 (+2) and tied for 24th.
The Rebels will now turn their attention to postseason play, as the team heads to Belleair, Florida, for the SEC Championship at Pelican Golf Club. The tournament is set to run Apr. 12-16, with three days of stroke play scheduled followed by match play.
