Women’s Golf Closes Out Play at 2024 SEC Championship

BELLEAIR, Fla. – The Ole Miss women's golf team saw their SEC Championship run came to a close on Sunday, as the Rebels were unable to make the cut to advance into match play.
Although the Rebels made a late climb up the leaderboard after shooting their best round yet of 280 (E) at the Pelican Golf Club, Ole Miss found themselves sitting in 11th place at the end of the day, which was just eight strokes behind No. 8 LSU, who snagged the final spot.
The Rebel trio of Caitlyn Macnab, Natacha Host Husted and Sophie Linder led the charge for Ole Miss, each finishing with three-day scores of 216 (+6) to tie for 25th.
Macnab finished off her week with her 22nd round even or below par this season, shooting even-par on the day while Husted strung together a third-round score of 72 (+2). Along with making her second eagle of the year, Linder's day three round of 69 (-1) tied for the best among all five Ole Miss golfers.
Justine Fournand would finish stroke play in 60th place, shooting 15-over on the week. Sophomore Nicole Gal came up big after replacing Andrea Lignell in the Rebel lineup for the final day of play, earning a counting score of 69 (-1) to tie Linder for the lowest round of all Ole Miss golfers on the day.
Ole Miss will wait to learn their postseason fate with the NCAA Selection Show, which is set to be televised on Golf Channel, April 24, at 1 p.m. CT. It is there that the team will learn what NCAA Regional they will be traveling to May 6-8.
