What They're Saying: Daijahn Anthony Joins Bengals
"He's earned it," said Bengals head coach Zac Taylor. "You go through how he ended up at Shepherd. You go through how he ended up at Liberty. You go through how he ended up at Ole Miss. I appreciate his story and why he did all the things that he did to get to where he's at today. And to have his named called on draft night I think is special to him."
Did You Know?: Anthony didn't receive any Division I scholarship offers, but Division II Shepherd (W.Va.) gave him an opportunity to walk on, and he quickly earned a scholarship. After two seasons there, he walked-on at Liberty before finishing his college career with a season at Ole Miss, where he led the team in INTs and passes defended.

What Are the Bengals Getting in Anthony?
Aside from a great surname, you mean? They are getting an aggressive and versatile defensive back. With the Rebels, Anthony lined up as both a bigger nickel back and as a safety.
He has decent speed as a hybrid type of player (4.56 40-yard dash) and can provide solid secondary depth and special teams prowess. The latter could be especially critical with D.J. Ivey returning from a late-season knee injury after executing a number of productive plays for Darrin Simmons' group.

He had the 2nd best ballhawk score of the 51 safeties we graded.
Played all over at nickel, in the box, and at FS. Another chess piece for the secondary.
This safety class was stacked. Thats a BPA pick. Like it!
Daijahn Anthony is a solid pick. Can play nickel and safety.

The Bengals draft slot corner/safety Daijahn Anthony. He has played corner, safety and nickel. He broke up 11 passes last year. He has 32 1/2 inch arms and gives them more versatility.

Transfer to Ole Miss from Liberty, and my guy Pop Douglas pushed me starting a year ago to have Anthony at @ShrineBowl.
He's an impact safety who had 3 INTs in '23. Will add value as a rookie… https://t.co/7LofQEHYY6 pic.twitter.com/30QNaNlCSV
