Aynslie Furbush Named All-SEC Second Team
5/10/2024 | Softball
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After the best offensive season of her career, Ole Miss softball senior Aynslie Furbush received All-SEC Second Team honors, the conference announced Friday morning.
The senior captured her second set of conference honors this season and the third of her career, being named to the SEC Community Service Team earlier this week and earning a spot on the SEC All-Freshman team in 2021.
Playing her fourth and final season in an Ole Miss uniform, Furbush had the best offensive year of her career. She tallied 48 hits, the most she's tallied in a single season of her career, while ranking second on the team with a .331 average at the plate and leading the offense with 44 RBI (10th in the SEC).
Batting cleanup for the Rebels down the stretch, Furbush blasted 12 home runs in 2024, tied for the fourth most in a single season in program history. The Longwood, Florida, native also registered the 100th hit of her career on April 27th.
A two-way player, Furbush always found a way to impact the game. In the circle, she picked up four saves while posting a 3.73 ERA in 60.0 innings of work.
Furbush and the Rebels await their postseason fate. Ole Miss will tune in to the 2024 NCAA Softball Selection Show on Sunday, May 12, at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
