6/5/2024 | Men's Tennis
OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss men's tennis senior Lukas Engelhardt has been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Third Team for the 2023-24 season, the CSC announced on Wednesday.
This marks the second consecutive year that Engelhardt has been named a Third Team All-American, as the Augsburg, Germany, native has excelled both on the court and in the classroom in his final season as a Rebel. Prior to Engelhardt, the last Rebel to earn the prestigious honor was Johan Backstrom who was named the Third Team in 2014.
Engelhardt, who just recently was named the 2024 H. Boyd McWhorter SEC Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the 2024 SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year for men's tennis and the Ole Miss Outstanding MBA Student Award, has cemented himself as an influential figure both on and off the court. Academically, the Augsburg, Germany, native has garnered a 4.0 cumulative GPA across his undergraduate and graduate schooling and recently graduated with his master's in business administration.
Engelhardt was also named a finalist for the NCAA Walter Byers Graduate Scholarship, the highest graduate honor the NCAA awards. Engelhardt was a 2023 winner of the Taylor Medal, which is the highest academic honor conferred by the University of Mississippi and is only awarded to less than one percent of the Ole Miss student body on an annual basis.
Engelhardt has also won the School of Business Outstanding Undergraduate in Management Student Award, the 2023 NCAA Spring Sports Postgraduate Scholarship, the 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award and has been named to the CSC Academic All-District Team both this year and last.
In his Ole Miss career, Engelhardt is a three-time SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll member, a three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete, a nine-time Chancellor's Honor Roll selection and he has led the Ole Miss men's tennis team to five straight Chancellor's Cup wins for best team GPA.
