OXFORD, Miss. – As excitement builds for Ole Miss Volleyball’s 2024 season and head coach Bre Henry’s second full year at the helm, OleMissSports.com takes a quick look at the Rebels’ three liberos and defensive specialists.
This year’s libero room is a mix of experience and youth as Cammy Niesen and Bailee Middleton return to anchor the defense while freshman Cameron Bradley hopes to make an immediate impact on the back row.
The only athlete to appear in all 111 of the team’s sets in 2023, Niesen continues to elevate her game each and every year as she tallied 448 digs her junior season, the second most in the SEC. The Cincinnati, Ohio, product posted at least 10 digs in all but three matches, including a career-high 34 against Tulsa. Additionally, Niesen led the team with 19 service aces and contributed offensively by posting 92 assists.

Middleton returns for her final year in the Rebel uniform after stringing together her greatest season yet, posting 110 digs and 14 service aces. The Kansas City, Mo., boasted multiple career games in 2023, first against Missouri, tallying the second most aces in a single match in program history with seven, and versus Arkansas, racking up a career-best 14 digs.

Bradley will be the lone freshman in the libero room this season as she comes off from being a three-year letterwinner at Rouse High School in Leander, Texas. She has accumulated numerous honors, most noticeably being named the MVP during the 2024 USA Girls Junior National Championship. Bradley is excited to burst on the scene after tallying over 1,500 career digs, including 500 in her senior year.
The Rebels will hit the court on Saturday for an exhibition matchup against North Alabama at 2:00 p.m. CT at the Gillom Center prior to its official season opening weekend at the Arkansas State Invitational beginning on August 30.
