Men’s Tennis Finds Success During Day Two of SEC Challenge

TUSCALOOSA, Ala.- The Ole Miss men's tennis team had a stellar second day competing in the SEC Challenge at the University of Alabama, going a perfect 2-0 in doubles, and 3-1 in singles.
Starting off the day hot, the seasoned duo of Noah Schlagenhauf and Isac Strömberg captured their first win as a pair of the season, defeating Mississippi State's Michael Novansky and Radomir Tomic, 8-3.The freshman duo of Matthieu Chambonniere and Benjamin Martin kept things going after their successful showing the day prior and defeated Thomas Kennedy and Joey Phillips from Mississippi State, 8-5, to add another win on the day for the Rebels.
In singles, the freshman Martin squared off against Phillips from Auburn, battling hard through three sets and notching his first collegiate singles win against the Tiger, 6-4, 4-6, 6-1. Schlagenhauf secured his second singles win of the weekend with a 7-5, 6-1 victory over Mississippi State's Tomic. The Nuertingen, Germany native is perfect on the weekend and looks to continue the streak tomorrow in the final day of the SEC Challenge.
Strömberg continued to bring the heat for the Rebels and defeated Novansky from Mississippi State in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, to earn his first singles win of his junior campaign. Chambonniere dropped his singles match to Auburn's Kennedy 6-2, 7-6(1).
The Rebels look to wrap up their time in Tuscaloosa tomorrow with doubles starting at 10 a.m. and singles matches to follow.
Live scoring will be available for the two remaining days in Tuscaloosa. Live video will be also available for all doubles matches and the main courts for singles.
