Soccer Drops Sunday Match Against Lipscomb
9/15/2024 | Soccer
OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss dropped its Sunday contest against Lipscomb by a score a 1-4. The Bisons were lifted by their leading goal scorer Kiara Pralle, who recorded a hat trick in the win.
Lipscomb struck first in the 27th minute off a goal from London De Fini. De Fini received the ball along the midfield line and made a nifty move to generate space before finding the back of the net just outside the box.
The Bisons stretched their lead to 2-0 in the 63rd off a corner kick. Pralle received the ball from Bella Carapazza and drove it past Sarah Margaret Seabrook to put Lipscomb in front by two.
Ole Miss would respond just three minutes later with a goal from Kelly Brady off an assist from Katie Ramsden. Ramsden pushed the attack down the sideline before delivering a cross to Brady who was able to head the ball into the net to cut the deficit to 2-1. It marked Brady's second goal of the season and Ramsden's third assist.
Lipscomb responded 24 seconds later with Pralle recording her second goal to push the deficit back to two. She would add her third goal in the 68th minute sending a ball past Seabrook to put the Bisons up 4-1.
The Rebels held the advantage in shots (19-8) and corners (9-3) but were unable to scratch more goals across Lipscomb keeper Kaina Cesar, who recorded six saves in the match.
Ole Miss (5-4-0) begins SEC play next week with a pair of road games at Tennessee and at LSU. Kick off in Knoxville is set for 6 p.m. CT Thursday and can be streamed on SEC Network+.
