Soccer Stifled By LSU In Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. – Ole Miss Soccer (5-6-0, 0-2-0 SEC) was downed by LSU (6-3-1, 1-1-0 SEC) Sunday night in Baton Rouge in another one-goal match as the Tigers came away with a 1-0 victory.
Shu Ohba made nine saves in the match, the most in her career as a Rebel. Three different Rebels took multiple shots on the night, but as a team Ole Miss was outshot 22-7. The Rebels were only able to put two shots on goal.
LSU scored the go-ahead goal late in the first half after Ohba had already made four stops to start the match. Sophomore Andrea Iljkic put away her third goal of the season in the 44th minute to make it 1-0 Tigers.
Ohba made five more saves in the second half keeping LSU off the board, but the Rebel offense could not break through with an equalizer.
Ole Miss returns home this week to host No. 11 Texas on Thursday on SEC Network.
