Soccer Drops Road Match at No. 8 Auburn

AUBURN, Ala. – Ole Miss dropped its Sunday match at No. 8 Auburn by a score of 0-3. The Tigers generated momentum at the start of the second half with two goals inside a minute of each other.
The Rebels had chances in the first half but couldn't scratch a goal across Auburn keeper Maddie Prohaska. Senior Aubrey Mister delivered a shot off the top of the cross bar early in the first half, but the Rebels were unable to convert off the deflection.
Auburn struck first in the 48th minute when Anna Haddock drove a ball past keeper Shu Ohba, off an assist from Dylan Driver. The Tigers responded a minute later with a goal from Olivia Woodson off another assist from Driver and Haddock.
Becky Contreras would tack on the third goal for Auburn in the 81st minute to make it 3-0 Tigers.
Auburn controlled the offensive attack, holding the advantage in shots, shots on goal, and corners.
Ole Miss (5-8-0, 0-4-0 SEC) returns home next Friday to take on the Aggies of Texas A&M. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT on SEC Network+. It will be senior night in Oxford as the program will honor the team's 10 seniors.
