Lauren Jacobs Named a 2025 McDonald’s Girls East Nominee

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss women's basketball signee Lauren Jacobs has been named a 2025 McDonald's Girls East nominee, the organization announced Wednesday.
The incoming freshman is one of two athletes from South Carolina to be honored with this accolade. Jacobs would be the second Rebel in program history to become a McDonald's All-American if selected, joining Madison Scott. Both players were recruited and signed by seventh-year head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin.
Jacobs is in her fifth year of varsity action, having begun competing as an eighth grader. The four-star recruit is the top prospect out of South Carolina in the 2025 class and is averaging the third-most points in the state with 25.7 through seven games in her senior season. In her high school career, she's averaging 20.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 2.2 assists per game.
As a junior, Jacobs led the state with 31.5 points per game, along with 7.0 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 4.2 steals per game. She scored over 40 points three times last year, including a career-high 47 points on 21 made field goals.
The Columbia, South Carolina, native earned a spot on the 2025 Hoop Gurlz ESPN Top 100 rankings and was named a 2023-24 Gatorade Player of the Year nominee. Jacobs earned the SCISA 4A Player of the Year in 2023 and 2024, while guiding Heathwood Hall to four state and regional championships apiece.
