Women’s Tennis Adds Pair of International Signees

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss women's tennis signed an international duo ahead of its first match of the season, head coach Mark Beyers announced on Monday.
Alice Soulié and Emily Welker will begin their collegiate journeys in Oxford and will join the program for the duration of the 2025 spring campaign.
Welker, a native of Limbach-Oberfrohna, Germany, joins Ole Miss with professional experience. She will join the Rebels with a 13.7 World Tennis Number while holding a 130-108 record in the professional circuit. She reached a career-high ITF singles ranking of No. 26.
Welker claimed her first career title in the 2024 ITF/Tennis Europe W15 Bucharest 2 tournament as the sixth seed. She won four of her matches in straight sets, including in the final round. She upset the second- and third-ranked players in the tournament for her win
On March 20, 2023, she reached her highest singles career WTA ranking, placing No. 593. Welker will contribute veteran leadership to the Rebels with a wealth of experience and tennis maturity. She will join Ole Miss as a graduate transfer, after completing her undergraduate degree in Germany, and will be eligible through the 2025-26 season.
Soulié will join Ole Miss as an incoming freshman out of Angers, France. She reached a career-high No. 413 in the ITF Junior rankings while claiming 47 wins in the circuit. In the professional ranks, Soulié added 31 wins.
She earned her first career title victory at the J5 Ponts de Ce in her home country of France. She reached the quarterfinal round of the 2024 W15 Monastir twice, displaying a plethora of experience at a young age and plenty of potential. Solié joined Ole Miss with a WTN of 16.2 in singles and doubles.
Rebel fans will get their first chance to see the new signees in action on Feb. 16 when Ole Miss takes on Iowa and Alcorn State in a doubleheader. The match will kick off at 11 a.m. when the Rebels take on the Hawkeyes.
