Aliyah Binford Named to Softball America’s Top-100 Players
1/6/2025 | Softball
OXFORD, Miss. – Incoming two-way star for the Ole Miss softball program, Aliyah Binford, has been named to Softball America's annual preseason list of Top-100 players, as the publication announced on Monday.
Binford was named the No. 32 ranked player in the nation and the second highest two-way player, behind only Jordy Bahl of Nebraska.
Binford joins the Rebels for the 2025 season, following a highly successful career at Baylor, where she was a two-time NFCA All-Region honoree. The New Braunfels, Texas native shined last season in her return from season-ending injury in 2023, going 13-12 with a 3.23 ERA in the circle, while hitting .272 with 10 extra-base hits and 21 RBI. As a result, she was named D1Softball's Comeback Player of the Year.
A veteran of several NCAA tournament games at Baylor, Binford will be called upon to fill a big role for the Rebels, who are seeking their fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance under head coach Jamie Trachsel.
The Rebels will open their regular season on Thursday, February 6 at 10 a.m., as they face Clemson at the FAU Tournament in Boca Raton, Fla.
