Men's Tennis to Compete in Battle on the Plains

AUBURN, Ala. – Ole Miss men's tennis continues its fall season Friday at the Battle on the Plains tournament from Oct. 3-5 at the Yarbrough Tennis Center.
Four Rebels will be making the trip to Auburn, Alabama. Sophomores Matthieu Chambonniere, Loan Lestir and Kai Milburn along with Senior Isac Strömberg.
The tournament will be played as a mini dual. The mini dual will consist of a doubles match followed by two singles matches. The winner of two out of three matches will then move on in the draw. Each player is guaranteed to have four singles matches and four doubles matches on the weekend.
Each flight will have a team champion based on points accumulated throughout the event.
Each mini match consists of three matches- one doubles match followed by two singles matches. Whichever team wins two of the three matches will move on in their respective draw.
THE REBELS
Matthieu Chambonniere (So.) – Paris, France
- Finished the 2024 season with a 23-7 singles record and a 14-15 doubles record
- Earned the most wins in singles and doubles by any Rebel during the season
- First Rebel Freshman to earn 20 singles wins since 2020-21 season
- Ranked as high as No. 67 in the ITA doubles rankings
- Tallied 16 singles victories in dual matches
- Secured a Rebel best seven singles wins in conference play
Loan Lestir (So.) – Lille, France
- Secured a 14-12 Singles record in his rookie season
- Tallied a team-high 10 singles dual wins
Captured six SEC singles victories
- Clinched match against Memphis in collegiate dual debut
Kai Milburn (So.) – Queenstown, New Zealand
- Compiled an 8-2 record in singles
- Secured seven dual wins in doubles, six on court 1
- Played primarily on court No. 6 in singles and court No. 1 in doubles
- Captured two conference victories on the doubles court
-Ranked as high as No. 51 in the ITA doubles rankings with Isac Strömberg
Isac Strömberg (Sr.) – Stockholm, Sweden
- Earned 12 singles wins during the 2025 season
- Notched a 14-12 doubles record
- Primarily played in the No. 3 spot in singles and No. 1 slot for doubles
- Captured two conference wins on the doubles court
- Ranked as high as No. 51 in ITA doubles rankings with Kai Milburn
- Boasts three top 30 ranked wins in doubles

RETURNING REBELS
Ole Miss has seven returning players from last year's team. Isac Strömberg returns to the Rebels after earning 12 singles wins during the 2025 season. Another returner, Schlagenhauf, earned 10 doubles victories during the 2025 campaign. Along with them sophomore standout Matthieu Chambonniere finished the season with a 23-7 singles record.
FRESH FACES
The Rebels bring in three freshmen to the roster this offseason. All are ranked in the ITA Newcomer rankings, D'Agostino ranked seventh, Jankanj ranked 14th and Pampanin ranked 17th.
