Men’s Tennis Concludes Day Two at the Battle on the Plains

AUBURN, Ala.  –  Ole Miss men's tennis built off its hot start from yesterday as it finished a combined 7-3 on the day at the Battle on the Plains Tournament in Auburn, Alabama.
 
In the second round of the Blue Draw, Rebels' Sophomore Kai Milburn and senior Isac Strömberg finished off their mini dual singles matches against South Alabama.
 
Strömberg defeated Jules Caby, 6-2, 6-1, while Milburn defeated Juan Accossatto, 3-6, 7-6, 6-1, to advance the pair to the third round of the Blue Draw.
 
On the other side of the Blue Draw bracket, the other pair of Rebels, sophomores Matthieu Chambonniere and Loan Lestir, finished off their singles matches to conclude their second-round mini dual against Clemson from yesterday.
 
Chambonniere defeated Nathan Pitts, 6-1, 6-4, and Lestir took down Yannic Nittman, 6-3, 7-5, to advance the pair to the third round of the blue draw.
 
The Rebel pairing then reunited for a doubles match to begin their third-round mini dual against The University of Troy's duo of Yeray Andres Pastor and Luciano Alcocer.
 
Lestir and Chambonniere defeated Pastor and Alcocer, 6-3. The pair then split up to take part in the singles portion of the mini dual. Lestir defeated Pastor, 6-4, 6-2, and Chambonniere defeated Alcocer, 6-3, 6-3, to secure the mini dual.
 
With the win, Lestir and Chambonniere will compete in the Blue Draw Bracket Final tomorrow.
