Cammy Niesen Sets Volleyball's All-Eras Dig Record Against Auburn

OXFORD, Miss. – Senior libero Cammy Niesen has etched her name in the record books setting Ole Miss volleyball’s all-time digs record.

Niesen entered Sunday’s competition needing nine digs to surpass Morgan Springer’s record, who set the mark in 2011. Niesen finished with 10 for the day, reaching 1,633 career digs. In her 102nd career match, Niesen required 15 fewer matches to best Springer, who competed in 117 matches in her career.
Niesen has improved exponentially each season in Oxford, improving her digs total every year as a Rebel. She’s recorded at least 400 digs each year in Oxford and is well on pace to do so again this season.
She’s recorded the second-most digs among active SEC competitors with her achievement, behind only Missouri’s Maya Sands. She’s within striking distance of reaching the top 10 in career digs among all SEC competitors all-time.
The Cincinnati, Ohio, native still has the remainder of this season to build on her record and will leave Ole Miss having cemented her legacy as one of the greatest defenders in program history.
