Aliyah Binford Returns to Softball as Athletics Intern
10/7/2025 | Softball
OXFORD, Miss. – Head coach Jamie Trachsel and the Ole Miss softball program have brought a program legend back to campus, welcoming Aliyah Binford as an athletics intern.
Binford stays in Oxford following her leading role as a player in the Rebels' run to the Women's College World Series for the first time in program history.
Binford will work with the program in a non-coaching capacity, including in player development. Binford's role will also include fostering relationships in the community, with alumni and working with the Ole Miss Champions Club.
Named to the Women's College World Series All-Tournament, Binford cemented herself as an iconic figure in program history in her lone season in Oxford as a two-way player on the 2025 softball team. Binford hit .320 with 12 home runs and set a single-season Rebel record of 55 RBI, while going 11-5 with a 3.26 ERA (122.1 IP) over 29 appearances in the circle, tallying 88 strikeouts and eight complete games.
In the Women's College World Series alone, Binford threw 11.0 innings and allowed no earned runs, while striking out eight batters. Binford earned NFCA All-South Region Second Team honors and went on to sign a professional contract with the Athletes Unlimited Softball League and joined the AUSL Blaze.
Binford joins Morgan Klaevemann and Eri Yamada as new additions to the program after the historic 2025 campaign.
The Rebels will open action for the start of the fall season with an intrasquad scrimmage on Oct. 10, before hosting Copiah-Lincoln CC for a doubleheader on Oct. 17.
