Women’s Tennis’ Emily Welker Wins First Round Matchup at NCAA Championships

ORLANDO, Fla. – Ole Miss Women's Tennis' Emily Welker secured a first-round victory to begin the NCAA Singles Championship in Orlando, Florida.
With singles beginning on Tuesday morning, Welker faced No. 88 Lavinia Tanasie of North Carolina State in the Round of 64. Welker would end up winning, 6-2, 6-1, to move on to the Round of 32.
She will face No. 45 Valeria Ray of Vanderbilt on Wednesday in the Round of 32.
Doubles play will begin on Wednesday, with Welker and Andrea Nova playing No. 48 Na Dong and Zuzanna Kubacha in the Round of 32.
