Mokihana Tufono Named to SEC Community Service Team

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss volleyball senior Mokihana Tufono has been named to the SEC Community Service Team, as the conference announced on Thursday.
Tufono takes home the first such honor of her career. One impactful student-athlete is selected annually from each SEC institution to the list.
Hailing from Aiea, Hawaii, Tufono has built a reputation as both a dynamic setter and a team leader. On the court, Tufono is an AVCA All-Region honoree who leads the SEC in total assists. Off the court, Tufono has jumped into the community since arriving as a transfer before the 2024 season.
Tufono participated in 'Adopt a Basket' to help donate over 100 Thanksgiving baskets to families in need throughout the Lafayette-Oxford-University Community. Tufono also participated in RebelTHON to raise funds and awareness for the local Children's of Mississippi Hospital. Tufono also helped coordinate efforts amongst her teammates for Hygiene Hijack, to collect hotel toiletry items that would be donated to the campus Violence Intervention and Prevention Services upon the completion of every school year. Tufono also participated in the collection and donation of non-perishable food items that benefit elementary students within the Tunica and Quitman counties for 'Feed the Sip'.
Additionally, Tufono participated in a number of volunteer visit opportunities, including 'Reading with the Rebels', to visit and read to local elementary schools, as well as assisting in a day of recreational events at the local Veteran's Home. Further visits included assisting teachers in greeting children throughout the morning car pool drop off at local schools, as well as joining her team in the giving of a hot meal for the Lafayette, Oxford, University (L.O.U.), through the More than a Meal foundation, serving more than 100 community members. Finally, Tufono also visited the Oxford Park Commission to mentor and inspire the younger generation for National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
Tufono and the Rebels will open the 2025 Allstate SEC Tournament on Friday, Nov. 21, as they get set for a rematch with 11th-seeded LSU at 6 p.m. CT. The match will be televised on the SEC Network.
