Rifle Claims Victory Over Air Force in Fall Finale
11/23/2025 | Rifle
LINCOLN, Neb. – Ole Miss' top-ranked rifle team dominated Air Force, 2728-2697, in a two-relay battle on Sunday in Lincoln, Nebraska.
The Rebels (5-2, 4-2 PRC) are coming off a three-team tournament which featured Nebraska and Air Force (5-10) on Saturday and got the better of the Falcons on both days. Audrey Gogniat, Gracie Dinh and Regan Diamond were the top three individual shooters of the day, sweeping the podium in order.
Ole Miss improved its score from yesterday by 16 points, which will be crucial down the stretch when it comes to NCAA Tournament seedings. The Rebels had the top four shooters in smallbore, while claiming three of the top five in air rifle.
Ole Miss only had two counters in the first relay, Jordan de Jesus and Susan Carter, making the midway point of the match skewed in favor of Air Force. De Jesus led all shooters in the first relay in smallbore with a 583 score. The script flipped in air rifle as Carter led all first relay shooters by tying a season-high 592 in the event. De Jesus added 590 to her partner's total.
The duo finished the day sixth and ninth in the individual aggregate rankings, respectively.
The heavy hitters began in the second relay, where Gogniat, Dinh and Diamond swept the individual leaderboards. Scoring 589, 588 and 587 in toe, Ole Miss had a dominant 2347-2324 lead in smallbore. Gogniat has finished with the top smallbore match score four times this season and has been the best in the event among all Rebels in her five appearances.
In air rifle, Gogniat stayed on fire throughout the event, firing a 598 to lead all competitors once again. She shot 25 straight bullseyes and only faltered once more after, giving her a 598 or better for the fourth time this season.
Dinh and Diamond followed with 596 and 595 scores, respectively. For Diamond, her score tied a career-high which she last set in the 2023-24 season. Diamond scored an 1182 aggregate which ties her career best for the second week in a row, after having done so against TCU last season.
The Rebels outshot the Falcons 2381-2373 in air rifle, giving them their 31-point lead. Ole Miss has now beaten two PRC opponents by at least 30 points this season, the other being UTEP when the Rebels won, 4735-4668.
Ole Miss is now set for a nearly two-month hiatus before the commencement of the spring season. The Rebels sit favorably at 5-2 and will look to build that record in the coming months. Ole Miss is next set to face Murray State on the road on Jan. 10, 2026.
