NFL Rebels Update: Week 17

OXFORD, Miss. – Here at OleMissSports.com, we are proud to update Rebel fans on the status of our former players who lace up their cleats on Sundays in the NFL.

Seventeen former Rebels played in Week 17. New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart led his team to victory Sunday, passing for 207 yards and rushing for 48 yards and two touchdowns as the G-men took down the Las Vegas Raiders 34-10. Dart now has 455 rushing yards on the year, ranking third among all quarterbacks. He has nine rushing touchdowns on the season, tied for 11th in the league and second among quarterbacks. Dart’s nine rushing touchdowns place him third all-time for rookie quarterbacks, behind only Billy Kilmer’s 10 in 1961 and former Rookie of the Year and MVP winner Cam Newton’s 14 touchdowns in 2011. Dart currently has the second-highest passer rating of any rookie quarterback, the most rushing yards of any rookie quarterback, and more rushing touchdowns than all other rookie quarterbacks combined.

#11 A.J. Brown | WR | Philadelphia Eagles
Hauled in five catches for 68 yards, leading the Eagles in both stats as they beat the Bills by a score of 13-12.

#77 Ben Brown | OL | New England Patriots
Started at left guard, playing all 66 offensive snaps in a 42-10 win over the New York Jets.

#52 Cedric Johnson | DE | Cincinnati Bengals
Finished with four total tackles, one sack, one tackle for loss, and one quarterback hurry as the Bengals took down the Arizona Cardinals 37-14.

#93 D.J. Jones | DT | Denver Broncos
Secured five total tackles in Week 17. His five tackles were tied for the team lead in the Broncos’ 20-13 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Played 24 snaps on special teams, securing one tackle in a loss to the 49ers on Sunday Night Football.
