Women’s Tennis Sweeps Doubleheader

TULSA, Okla. – Ole Miss women's tennis dominated in both matchups of its doubleheader, with a 4-1 victory against Tulsa and a 4-0 sweep over Kansas City on Saturday, Feb. 1.
Freshman Alice Soule made her collegiate debut in both doubles and singles against Kansas City. The newcomer left her mark in Tulsa by winning both in doubles, alongside Anaëlle Leclercq-Ficher, and a 6-1, 6-0 singles win on court six.
The Rebels (6-1, 0-0 SEC) won seven singles matches, remaining undefeated in the event for the day, playing a hand in giving the Golden Hurricane their first loss of the season. Against the Roos, the Rebels recorded their second sweep of the year.

In doubles, the Rebels put up a close fight on all three courts but fell short to give the advantage to the Hurricane. Duo Ludmila Kareisová and Anaëlle Leclercq-Ficher went unfinished on court one, to maintain an undefeated record.
Graduate Lucie Petruzelova changed the pace of the match after securing her first set against Maria Berlanga Bandera, 6-4. All Rebels followed suit, with each court boasting a first set win over Tulsa. Petruzelova put the Rebels on the board after a 6-3 victory on court one.
Shortly after, Emma Kette dominated the fifth slot and brought the lead in for the Rebels. Kareisová notched another victory under her belt, now one shy of 50 career singles wins. The senior kept momentum high, and took down Lily Hutchings, 7-5, 6-1.
To round out match one of the day, Rachel Krzyzak put up a fight on in the fourth slot, and clinched the match for Ole Miss. The Ontario, Canada, native now has 49 singles wins, taking down Tayla Wilmot 7-6, 7-5.
Two courts went unfinished, Leclercq-Ficher on court three with a score of 6-1, 5-7, 2-5 and Andrea Nova on court six, with a score of 6-7, 6-2.

International signee, Alice Soulié, alongside Leclercq-Ficher started the match with a bang and secured her first collegiate win. The pair dominated, with a score of 6-1. The star-powered duo of Krzyzak and Brooklyn Olson clinched an early lead for the Rebels, after defeating their opponent, 6-3.
Soulié didn't let her foot off the gas for her singles debut and made a statement early. The freshman put up a solid 6-1, 6-0, score on court six to go 2-0 on the day.
Both Nova and Olson kept with the newcomer, as all three courts secured a straight set win to clinch the match. Nova continued to shine as she dominated the fourth slot, with a final score of 6-4, 6-2.
The freshman phenom in Olson put up a stellar fight against her opponent, and earned a final of 6-2, 6-2. The four games against her are the first she's allowed in her collegiate career.
Three courts went unfinished, Petruzelova ending 7-5, 4-1, Krzyzak at 1-6, 4-4, and Leclercq-Ficher at 6-3, 4-1.
