Men’s Tennis Falls to No. 4 Texas in Austin

AUSTIN, Texas - In the Rebels' first ever SEC matchup against the Longhorns, No. 51 Ole Miss men's tennis dropped to No. 4 Texas, 6-1, on Monday afternoon at the Texas Tennis Facility.
The Rebels (8-3, 0-2 SEC) fought hard against the highly touted Longhorns (10-2, 2-0 SEC), but Ole Miss could not mount the comeback after facing three ranked singles players, including two in the top-20.
Loan Lestir was the Lone Star standout for the Rebels, as he found early momentum on court four and dominated Texas' Sebastian Eriksson. The freshman earned an electric straight set 6-4, 6-0 win to put the Rebels on the board.
This win marked the Lille, France, native's ninth singles win of his freshman campaign and earned the lone point on the day for Ole Miss.
The Rebels will be back in action on Saturday March 1 for a doubleheader event where they will host LSU at 11:00 a.m. CT and North Alabama at 1:00 p.m. CT. at the Palmer/Salloum Outdoor Tennis Facility.
