Men’s Tennis Set to Host LSU and North Alabama for Doubleheader Event

OXFORD, Miss. - The No. 64 Ole Miss Rebels will welcome the LSU Tigers and the No. 74 North Alabama Lions to Oxford for a doubleheader event on Saturday, March 1 at the Palmer/Salloum Outdoor Tennis Facility.
To kick off play, Ole Miss will square off against LSU on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. CT and then turn around and compete against North Alabama in the afternoon, beginning at 3:00 p.m. CT.

THE REBELS
Matthieu Chambonniere (Fr.) - Paris, Île-de-France
-Holds a 15-4 overall record on the singles courts
-Has tallied 12 doubles wins on the season
-Named the Houndstooth Draw doubles champions at the SEC Challenge with doubles partner Benjamin Martin in the fall
-Defeated Nebraska's Leo Linquet in a gritty, 7-6 (9-7), 3-6, 6-3 matchup
Marcel Kamrowski (Jr.) - Gdańsk, Poland
-Junior transfer from Middle Tennessee State
-Named to the 2024 All-Conference USA Singles First Team
-Went 2-0 in his Ole Miss debut against Tulane
-Defeated Asaf Friedler and Vincent Vohl, 6-4, with partner Kai Milburn to tally his first doubles win as a Rebel

-Earned an impressive 7-6 (7-5), 5-7, 10-8 win over Nebraska's Roni Hietaranta
-Was one of five Rebels to represent Ole Miss at the ITA Southern Regional in the fall
Kai Milburn (Fr.) - Queenstown, New Zealand
-Boasts a 4-1 record on the singles court
-Defeated Asaf Friedler and Vincent Vohl 6-4 with partner Marcel Kamrowski to earn his first doubles win as a Rebel
-Has earned three tournament ITF titles in singles, earning victories in the J60 Christchurch, J60 Wellington and J100 Auckland
-Represented New Zealand during last year's Davis Cup
Noah Schlagenhauf (Jr.) - Nuertingen, Germany
-Holds a 15-8 record on the singles court in his junior season campaign
-Has tallied seven doubles wins in the 2025 season
-Advanced to the qualifying round of the ITA-All Americans in the fall
-Defeated No. 84 Dimitris Paliouras, 6-4, 6-4, in win over Georgia Southern
Isac Strömberg (Jr.) - Stockholm, Sweden
-Defeated Adrian Contreras (EKU), 6-3, 6-1, to open the 2025 spring season
-Bested Alabama's No. 62 Andrii Zimnokh, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 in the fall season to earn his first ranked win of the 2024-25 season
-Undefeated on court two in dual singles matches, holding a 3-0 record
-Holds a 10-8 singles record in the spring campaign
Gordon Whitwell (Jr.) - Oxford, Mississippi
-Defeated Ryan Kitchin and Adrian Contreras (EKU) 6-2 with partner Isac Strömberg to open junior year spring season
-Secured his first singles win of the spring season over Eastern Kentucky's Darko Kolevski, 6-1, 6-4
-Has secured three wins on the doubles courts with partner Isac Strömberg
-Advanced to the doubles round of 16 at the ITA Southern Regional in the fall season
LONE STAR STANDOUT
Loan Lestir was the lone Ole Miss player to put a point on the board for the Rebels early this week against No. 4 Texas. The freshman jumped out to an early advantage against Texas' Sebastian Eriksson, which led the Rebel to dominate his opponent. Lestir's early momentum earned him an electric straight set 6-4, 6-0 win over Texas' student-athlete to put the Rebels only point on the board for the day. This win marked the Lille, France, native's ninth singles win of his freshman campaign and earned the lone point on the day for Ole Miss.
TEAM PROFILE: LSU
The LSU men's tennis program is led by head coach Danny Bryan. The Tigers earned a 16-14, 1-11 SEC overall record in the 2023-24 campaign and are currently 8-5, 0-2 SEC at the start of the 2025 season. Leading the Tigers on the singles court is Julien Penzlin who boasts a 16-5 record primarily on court three. Penzlin pairs up with Aleksi Lofman on the doubles court to make up the Tigers best doubles pair. The duo boasts a 13-6 overall record on the doubles court.
TEAM PROFILE: NORTH ALABAMA
No. 74 North Alabama is led by Aitor Reparaz who is in his second season at the helm of the Lion's tennis program. Last season, North Alabama earned an overall record of 16-9, 6-3 ASUN and currently holds a 4-2, 0-0 ASUN record in the 2025 campaign. The Lions are led by Freshman Satoru Nakajima who holds a 4-0 record on the season. On the doubles court, Alberto Altur and Izan Orgiles lead the way for the Lions, as the pair holds a 2-0 record on the doubles court.
PROMOTIONS THIS WEEKEND
Ole Miss will be playing outside on its home courts for the first time this season, as weather is supposed to be beautiful at the Palmer/Salloum Outdoor Tennis Facility. Corndogs will be given away during the doubleheader event on Saturday.
Fans are now permitted to bring personal coolers with a maximum size of 20 quarts and no glass bottles. Age verification screening will be instituted at entry for fans who bring coolers with alcohol. Concessions will not be offered at tennis matches.
