Three Rebels Ranked in D1Baseball’s Top 150 Starting Pitchers List

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss Baseball placed three pitchers on D1Baseball's Top 150 Starting Pitchers, with Hunter Elliott at No. 26, Riley Maddox at No. 62, and Mason Nichols at No. 117.
Elliott, who was recently named to the Preseason All-SEC Team, returns to the mound after spending nearly two seasons recovering from an elbow injury. He was a three-time Freshman All-American in 2022 and set an Ole Miss freshman record for strikeouts in a season with 102. He finished second on the team with a 2.70 ERA over 20 appearances.
Maddox played in his first full season since 2022 last year, starting 14 games and working himself into the Friday night role for the Rebels. He led Ole Miss in starts and innings pitched and finished second in total strikeouts. He pitched a career-high seven innings with a career-high seven strikeouts in what would be the final game of the season in the SEC Tournament against Mississippi State.
Nichols has played three full seasons for the Rebels, mostly from out of the bullpen. He made his first four career starts in 2024 after getting slotted into the Sunday role. His best start came in the rubber match against Mississippi State where he went a career-high 6.1 innings and struck out four to lock down the series win.
Ole Miss Baseball opens its 2025 season on February 14 against Arizona as part of the 2025 Shriners Children's College Showdown in Arlington, Texas.
