Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan Wins Third Straight NCAA Shot Put Title
3/15/2025 | Track and Field
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Ole Miss track & field star junior Tarik Robinson-O'Hagan faced his toughest test to date, but was still able to hang on by three centimeters for his third consecutive NCAA shot put title at the 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships on Saturday evening.
Robinson-O'Hagan's first-round effort of 20.49m/67-02.75 led wire-to-wire, but it came dangerously close to slipping out of the lead after South Carolina's Christopher Licata unleashed a massive PR of 20.46m/67-01.50 on his sixth and final attempt – just under two inches from taking the top spot.
Robinson-O'Hagan – already a three-time watch list selection for The Bowerman – is now one of only 11 in collegiate history to win at least three NCAA men's shot put crowns in a row across both the indoor and outdoor season. As a sophomore in 2024, he became the youngest since 1989 to complete the indoor-outdoor sweep of the event, and another win outdoors would put him in even more rarified air.
This marks Robinson-O'Hagan's 10th career All-America award, and he now owns an impressive total of 47 career NCAA points scored.
