Miali Guachino Named SEC Co-Pitcher of the Week

3/18/2025 | Softball

OXFORD, Miss. – Following another incredible weekend in the circle, Ole Miss softball freshman Miali Guachino has been named the SEC's Co-Pitcher of the Week, as the conference announced on Tuesday.

Guachino shared the award with Oklahoma's Sam Landry. It's the first such honor in the career of Guachino, who joins Aliyah Binford and Mackenzie Pickens as SEC weekly award winners this season.

It was a dominant week from the start for Guachino, whose first start on Friday etched her name in the Ole Miss history books, as she threw a five-inning no-hitter in a win over Samford. Her next start came on Sunday against Iowa State, as she threw a second consecutive shutout, striking out nine. In game two of the doubleheader, Guachino reemerged from the bullpen to strike out three in an inning of work to secure her first collegiate save in the 8-6 victory over the Cyclones.

Guachino finished the week with a 2-0 record, 0.00 ERA (12.0 IP), two complete game shutouts, a save, three hits, three walks and 20 strikeouts.

The Pala, Calif., native continues to be a dominant force in the SEC, ranking third in the nation and leading the conference in total strikeouts with 124. Her ERA of 1.37 also ranks in the top-25 nationally, as she continues to get closer to entering the single-season top-10 in strikeouts at Ole Miss.

The Rebels return to SEC play this weekend, traveling to Lexington, Ky., for a three-game set with Kentucky. Game one will be televised on SEC Network and get started on Friday at 5 p.m. CT.
