Women’s Golf Place Seventh at Clemson Invitational, Macnab Registers Top 3 Finish

SUNSET, S.C. – The Rebels wrapped up regular season play with a seventh-place finish at the Clemson Invitational on Sunday.
 
The 14th-ranked Rebels carded a 10-under, 278, during the third and final round at The Reserve at Lake Keowee to finish the tournament at 854 (-10). The 278 tied for the third-lowest round of the season for Ole Miss.

Caitlyn Macnab tallied her third straight round in the red, firing a 4-under, 68, on Sunday to finish the tourney at 12-under (204). It tied for Macnab's best 54-hole score on the season. The senior led the field in eagles (2) after making another one on the par 5 No. 11, previously making an eagle on the same hole in the second round. The Johannesburg, South Africa, native also tied for the best par-5 scoring (-7) this weekend to help secure her third top 3 finish this season. 
 
Matching Macnab's third round score was Kajsalotta Svarvar, who posted a weekend-best round score of 4-under, 68. Carding five birdies and 12 pars, the freshman elevated herself up the leaderboard into a tie for 24th after completing the tournament at 4-under, 212.
   
Sophie Linder found herself in red figures on Sunday, shooting 2-under, 70, to bring her overall tournament score to below par at 215 (-1). After beginning her day with a par on hole 11, the Carthage, Tennessee, native made five birdies through six holes on No. 14 through No. 1 to see her into a tie for 33rd at the end of the Rebels' time in South Carolina.
 
Nicole Gal shot even par in round three, to bring her 54-hole score to 224 (+8) to secure a share of 63rd place. Gal began her day on the par 4 No. 13 where she opened with a birdie. She would add another at No. 17 and again at the par 3 No. 7.
 
Rounding out the lineup for the Rebels was Filippa Sundquist who shot a 73 (+1) in the final round. The sophomore caps off the weekend in a tie with Gal at 63rd after ending the tournament with a score of 224 (+8).

Next up, the Rebels will turn its attention to the SEC Championship, April 14-18, in Belleair, Florida.
