Women’s Golf Sits Atop Team, Individual Leaderboard at Gators Invite

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The 14th-ranked Ole Miss women's golf team holds the top spot on both the team and individual leaderboard after shooting a 278 (-2) and 285 (+5) during the opening two rounds of the Gators Invitational on Friday.
The Rebels lead tournament host Florida by one stroke headed into Saturday's third and final round at Mark Bostick Golf Course.
Junior Nicole Gal sits in first place individually at 4-under after a 67 (-3) and 69 (-1) during Friday's first two rounds. The Oakville, Ontario, native finished round one with four birdies in her final 10 holes. Gal continued her torrid birdie pace, making birdie on No. 1, 4 and 6 to open up her second round. She leads all golfers in par-4 scoring (3.85).

Caitlyn Macnab and Kajsalotta Svarvar both sit at 2-over after 36 holes and are tied for 12th place overall.
Macnab rebounded from a first round, 3-over, 73, to card a 69 (-1) in round two. Macnab was steady in her second 18 holes on Friday, making par on 15 holes. The senior from Johannesburg, South Africa, is looking to continue her streak of finishing inside the top 20 in every tournament this season.
Svarvar joined Gal and Macnab with her own sub-70 round, firing a 1-under (69) during the first round of play. Svarvar wrapped up the day with 73 (+3) to head into the clubhouse with a top-15 spot.
Sophomore Sophie Linder is currently tied for 24th after a 71 (+1) and 74 (+4) in Gainesville. Linder leads the Rebels and is tied for second in the field with nine birdies through two rounds.
Larissa Carrillo rounded out the rotation for the Rebels on Friday and is tied for 37th place at 7-over (147). Carrillo shot a 71 (+1) during the Rebels' first round, including a hole-out for eagle from 95 yards out on No. 17.
The Rebels are set to tee off at 7:30 a.m. CT on Saturday for the final round in Gainesville, Florida.
