Macnab Readies for 2025 Augusta National Women’s Amateur
4/1/2025 | Women's Golf
AUGUSTA, Ga. – For the fifth straight year, an Ole Miss women's golfer will make the trip from Mississippi to Georgia to compete in the Augusta National Women's Amateur.
Caitlyn Macnab will represent the Rebels in the prestigious event, April 2-5. This will mark the fourth time in Macnab's amateur career that she has been invited to the prestigious event. At least one Ole Miss player has been invited to six of the seven tournaments since the event's inception in 2019. Julia Johnson was invited in 2020, but didn't compete due COVID-19 pandemic.
The tournament, taking place a week before The Masters, will feature 72 of the best women's amateur golfers in the world and will be held at the Champions Retreat Golf Club. Following the second round, the field will be cut to 30 with the final round to be played at Augusta National.
The first and second rounds of the Augusta National Women's Amateur on Wednesday and Thursday will be broadcast live on Golf Channel (12:30-2:30 p.m. CT).
NBC will produce and broadcast three hours (11 a.m.-2 p.m. CT) of live final-round coverage of the event at Augusta National. Additionally, Golf Channel's "Live From the Masters" will commence on Friday, April 4 at Augusta National to provide coverage of the Augusta National Women's Amateur.
At the 2024 ANWA, Macnab saw a strong first day as she made three birdies and 12 pars to propel herself to a score of 71 (-1). The Johannesburg, South Africa, native fell short in advancing to the final round though, finishing just one stroke shy of the cut line with a score of 148 (+4) on the week.
Two years ago, Macnab had an extraordinary run as she finished tied for ninth in Augusta after stringing together a three-round score of 217 (+1). This marked an improvement from her performance at the 2022 Augusta National Women's Amateur, where she placed 11th.
Macnab is currently ranked No. 29 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings and is coming off an impressive performance at the Clemson Invitational, where she finished third individually and tallied three straight rounds in the red.
Ole Miss assistant coach, Zack Siefert, will serve as Macnab's caddie during the event.
