Volleyball Signs Vivianna Samaniego as Transfer
4/14/2025 | Volleyball
OXFORD, Miss. – The Ole Miss volleyball program and head coach Bre Henry have added another dynamic talent in the transfer portal, inking setter Vivianna Samaniego.
Samaniego joins the Rebels after spending her freshman season at Cal State Bakersfield and will have three more seasons of eligibility remaining. Samaniego marks the second transfer addition of the offseason, after signing Jordyn Towns (Alabama) in December.
Hailing from Surprise, Ariz., Samaniego joins the Rebels following a strong debut season with the Roadrunners. Samaniego played in all 30 matches, tallying 433 assists alongside teammate Nene Hawkins as a tandem setting pair. Samaniego also tallied 144 digs, 36 service aces, 21 kills and a block. Her efforts contributed to the program's best season since 2021.
A graduate of Northwest Christian High School in Phoenix, Ariz., Samaniego was also a talented prep player, where she was named the 3A Player of the Year in 2023. Samaniego also excelled in her club career, where she won the USAV National Championship in the National Division.
Henry and her staff have shined with the development of transfer portal players, including with the progress of fellow setter Mokihana Tufono, who was named AVCA All-Region after joining the program last offseason.
