Men’s Track & Field No. 17 in Week Four USTFCCCA Outdoor Rating Index
4/22/2025 | Track and Field
NEW ORLEANS – Ole Miss Men's track & field ranks No. 17 in week four of the USTFCCCA Outdoor Rating Index released Tuesday morning.
This marks the 72nd appearance in the outdoor national top-25 for the Rebel men since their first appearance in 2010, the 22nd under 10th-year head coach Connie Price-Smith. Of the now 131 total outdoor rankings appearances in Ole Miss history, Price-Smith owns 72 (50 women, 22 men).
The USTFCCCA's National Rating Index is a computer rating system which uses an algorithm that emphasizes individual performances, assigning a point value to each individual mark that contributes to a team total to assess its national ranking.
Junior and The Bowerman watch list member Tarik Robinson-O'Hagan currently accounts for 56.37 of Ole Miss' 113.63 points in the Week Four index. The three-time reigning national shot put champion set the NCAA lead in the men's shot put last weekend at Florida's Tom Jones Memorial with a heave of 20.75m/68-1 (34.09 points). Robinson-O'Hagan also ranks tied for fifth in the U.S. and sixth in the NCAA in the hammer with a blast of 74.54m/244-7 (22.28 points) that tied his career-best and school record he set in 2024 (22.28 points).
His outdoor debut performances isolate him as the lone collegian and one of two throwers worldwide this year to break 69 feet in the shot put and 240 feet in the hammer (when including his indoor shot put mark).
Fellow junior Arvesta Troupe currently owns 21.30 points himself with his outdoor career-best of 2.20m/7-02.50 in the men's high jump back in March at LSU's Battle on the Bayou. Troupe ranks sixth nationally and is still tied for the SEC lead.
Also climbing up the rankings for the Rebel men is senior Jake Dalton in the hammer. Dalton's four-foot career-best of 69.72m/228-09 from last weekend's Tom Jones Memorial places him 11th nationally and second in the SEC behind Robinson-O'Hagan.
Other Rebel men contributing are: senior Toby Gillen in the 5K (12th, 13.26.92); junior Bryson Smith in the hammer (14th, 69.12m/226-9); junior Joseph Michel in the 100-meter dash (18th,10.10w/+2.6); senior Drew O'Connor and sophomore John Kendricks in the pole vault (34th, 5.30m/17-04.50); senior Kidus Misgina in the 10K (36th, 28:20.19) and the 5K (50th, 13:37.29); freshman Max Armstrong (39th, 1:47.68) and junior Carson Turner (40th,1:47.69) in the 800-meter; junior Mason Hickel in the shot put (38th, 18.52m/60-09.25) and in the hammer (49th, 64.06m/210-2); Michel, freshman Jordan Urrutia, freshman Wesley Todd and freshman Tarique Wright in the men's 4x100-meter relay (39th, 39.71); Todd, Armstrong, Turner and Urrutia in the men's 4x400-meter relay (44th, 3:07.91); junior Logan Kelly in the pole vault (47th, 5.28m/17-03.75); and Evan Thornton-Sherman in the 5K (63rd, 13:38.09).
