Freshman Lily Beattie Makes History, Earns SEC Silver in Women’s Pole Vault

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Ole Miss track & field freshman Lily Beattie put together the best performance of her young career, taking the silver medal following an excellent women's pole vault competition on Saturday at the final day of the 2025 SEC Outdoor Championships.
Beattie found herself as one of only eight left in competition at the third bar (4.26m/13-11.75) and one of only four left at the next one (4.36m/14-03.50), soaring clear over her first three bars – including a monster half-foot PR at her final one of 4.26m/13-11.75.
That height already makes her the third-best in Ole Miss history, and her silver medal performance ranks as the best ever by a Rebel woman in the pole vault at any SEC meet – indoor or outdoor.
