6/4/2025 | Men's Golf
ORLANDO, Fla. – The men's golf duo of Michael La Sasso and Tom Fischer were named to Golfweek's 2025 Men's College Golf All-America Teams Wednesday. La Sasso earned First Team recognition and Fischer was named an Honorable Mention.
La Sasso completes a junior season where he led Ole Miss in 10 statistical categories throughout regular and postseason play. The 2025 NCAA Division I Individual National Champion tallied a 69.48 scoring average which marked the lowest in a season by a Rebel in program history.
He tallied the third most rounds under-par in a single season with 25. His 30 rounds of par or better and 20 rounds in the 60s are the second most in a single season by an Ole Miss Rebel.
La Sasso begins play at the 2025 Arnold Palmer Cup this Thursday and is set to make his major championship debut at the U.S. Open June 12-15.
Tom Fischer competed in all 12 events for the Rebels and helped guide Ole Miss to their best finish at the NCAA Championships in program history. His 71.13 scoring average ranked second on the team in 2024-25.
Fischer's defining moment came in the quarterfinals of match play at the NCAA Championships when he defeated Arizona State's Michael Mjaaseth in a 21-hole playoff match, sending the Rebels to the semifinals.
Fischer won his first collegiate event in the team's regular season finale at the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship. He carded a career-low 54-hole score of (203, -13) which tied the individual low-54 in tournament history.
He tallied 22 rounds of par or better and 20 rounds in red figures. His 12 rounds in the 60s ranked second behind La Sasso.
Fischer earned Second Team All-SEC and PING All-Region Southeast Team honors. He was also selected to the SEC Community Service Team.
