7/15/2025 | Rifle
OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss rifle has announced its first official schedule of the head coach Will Shaner era on Monday, releasing its slate for the 2025-26 season on Tuesday.
Now entering their second season as a member of the Patriot Rifle Conference, the Rebels will face five PRC opponents throughout the upcoming campaign with six total conference matchups. Ole Miss will host six matches this season at the Ole Miss Rifle Range, which includes one doubleheader.
Last season, Ole Miss earned its fifth-straight NCAA Tournament berth and finished second in the team air rifle standings. Audrey Gogniat became Ole Miss' first individual champion in either discipline, claiming the air rifle title as a freshman. In the aggregate, the Rebels finished fourth overall. At their inaugural PRC Tournament debut last season, the Rebels finished second overall in the aggregate and smallbore standings and third in air rifle, while Gogniat swept the individual titles.
Gogniat returns to Oxford this season for the Rebels, leading a young and talented roster. Gracie Dinh is back for her second season, following a CRCA All-American First Team nod in smallbore and honorable mention status in aggregate scoring during her freshman season last year. Jordan de Jesus, Susan Carter, Claudia Muzik and Kayla Riewe assemble a strong sophomore squad alongside Goginat and Dinh.
Ole Miss opens its first season with its first of two journeys to Texas this season, starting 2025 with a bout against UTEP in El Paso on Oct. 4. The Rebels last faced and defeated the Miners during the 2010-11 season, which was also the last time they traveled to El Paso. This is also the first match between the two programs as conference rivals.
Ole Miss then returns home for a pair of home matches against Murray State on Oct. 25 and PRC opponent Alaska-Fairbanks on Nov. 8. These matches serve as the only home appearances for the Rebels during the fall slate.
Going back to Texas for the second time, Ole Miss will face TCU on Nov. 16. Ole Miss will then quickly turn around and head to Nebraska for a doubleheader against the Cornhuskers and Air Force on Nov. 22. The next day, the Rebels will battle the Falcons of Air Force in a head-to-head match from the neutral range to close the first half of the season.
To start 2026, the Rebels head to Murray to face the Racers for the second time in the year on Jan. 10. Following that, Ole Miss goes back on the road to Columbus, Ohio, for a matchup against PRC rival Ohio State on Jan. 25.
The Rebels will prepare for the PRC Tournament with a doubleheader at home against Georgia Southern and Navy on Jan. 31. The conference tournament is set for Feb. 6-7, with a host site to be announced at a later date.
The Rebels then have two more head-to-head matchups, both against Memphis. The first takes place on Feb. 14 in Oxford, the next on Feb. 15 in Memphis.
The NCAA Qualifier match is set for Feb. 21, with an opponent to be announced later. Ole Miss has won eight straight NCAA Qualifiers, dating back to the 2017-18 season.
The Rebels hope to cap their 2025-26 campaign at the NCAA Rifle Championships, hosted this season by Ohio State on March 13-14. The top eight teams in the nation will convene, including up to 10 individual athletes, with one team being crowned national champions.
