Rifle Adds Former Student-Athlete Katie Tedeschi as Assistant Coach
7/17/2025 | Rifle
OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss rifle bolstered its coaching staff by hiring Katie Tedeschi as assistant coach, head coach Will Shaner announced Thursday.
Tedeschi, a 2025 graduate of Ole Miss, spent two seasons on the team after transferring in from NC State. Tedeschi was a consistent counter for the Rebels and served as the reserve shooter in 2025's national tournament in Lexington, Kentucky.
"I've known Katie ever since we started competing together at the NTC Shooting Club," Shaner said. "It wasn't until I saw her compete in college that I realized just how deeply she cares about this sport and about helping others succeed in it. From being a senior on the line to stepping into the role of assistant coach, we are lucky to retain such a dedicated individual who truly believes in what Ole Miss rifle is working to achieve."
As a student-athlete, she recorded career-best scores of 584 in smallbore, 596 in air rifle and 1180 in aggregate scoring. Her smallbore and aggregate bests came while competing for the Rebels, and she reached her air rifle best twice.
"I'm incredibly grateful for this opportunity to work as part of the Ole Miss rifle team," Tedeschi said. "It's an honor to work alongside such exceptional leadership and dedicated athletes. I'm excited to contribute to the strong foundation that has already been built."
Tedeschi graduated from Ole Miss with a bachelor of multi-disciplinary studies. She was named to the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll in 2024 after her first season with the program. A four-time CRCA Scholastic All-American, Tedeschi was also named to the SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll as a senior.
A native of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Tedeschi was a two-time Junior Olympics qualifier prior to her collegiate career. In 2020, she earned a podium finish in both smallbore and air rifle at the Colorado State Junior Olympics and the Junior Rifle Olympics.
