Latasha Lattimore Named to Prestigious Midyear Watch List

1/27/2026 | Women's Basketball

ROSWELL, Ga. – Ole Miss women's basketball senior forward Latasha Lattimore has been named to the 2026 Naismith Women's College Defensive Player of the Year Presented by MOLECULE Watch List, the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced Tuesday.

One of 25 student-athletes in the NCAA to earn this recognition, Lattimore could become the first Rebel in Ole Miss' 51-year history to earn the honor. She's one of seven forwards attached to the list, and one of 12 members of fellow SEC schools.

Lattimore has been a defensive stalwart for Ole Miss since the beginning of the season. At the time of release, she's accumulated 45 blocks for an average of 2.1 per game. That average is third best in the SEC and 21st in the country. Lattimore also holds the third-most defensive rebounds among Rebels with 86 thus far this season.

Earlier in the season, Lattimore had at least one block in 12 consecutive games. It's the longest game-by-game streak by a Rebel since Dominique Banks had a 19-game stretch during the 2019-20 season. Additionally, she's had eight games this season with at least three blocks. Last time a Rebel had that many games with such a feat was Rita Igbokwe, who accomplished the feat in the 2022-23 season.

She's had two games with at least five blocks this season, the first time being against Mississippi Valley State when she had six. That mark tied a career-high, which she had previously set at her last school. She once again reached the five-block plateau against Texas in Austin, which is the most an individual has had against the Longhorns this season.

Offensively, she's averaging 10.2 points on a 49.7 percent shooting clip.
