2/25/2026 | Men's Golf

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southeastern Conference has named Daniel Tolf SEC Freshman of the Week for men’s golf. The Gothenburg, Sweden native claimed co-medalist honors to open the spring at the Watersound Invitational.

Tolf posted (201, -9) setting a new career-low 54-hole score in his first victory on the collegiate circuit. He began the spring with back-to-back rounds of five-under 65, also setting a new career-low 18-hole score.

Tolf became the first freshman in nearly 10 years to win at least a share of an individual title for Ole Miss. The last freshman to win in their rookie year was Braden Thornberry who conquered them all at the FAU Slomin Autism Invite March 25-27, 2016, with rounds of 69-67-69.

Through six events this season, the rookie ranks fourth on the team in scoring average (71.53), rounds of par or better (9) and birdies (52).

Tolf is the first Rebel to win freshman of the week since his teammate Cameron Tankersley took home the weekly honor on Feb. 15, 2023.

The Rebels return to action Sunday at the Cabo Collegiate, March 1-3, at Twin Dolphin Club.
